Dammit it's a Doumit: 1/1 I wear a First Base Glove and Catcher's Mask Printing Plate edition

January is an expensive month of highlighting new cards.  Why do you ask?  Well, cause quite simply it's featuring a lot of 1/1s. Already this week I showed off printing plates for Cutch and Tony Sanchez.
2005 Bowman 1/1 Magenta Printing Plate
I've been wanting a Ryan Doumit 1/1 for a long time.  For a $30 best offer I was able to obtain this excellent 1/1 for my collection.  Best of all is that this card perfectly shows how I feel about Ryan Doumit.  He was a catcher, but in the card he's wearing a baseball cap, 1st baseman's glove, and a catcher's mask.  This shows why he was so tough to watch defensively.  One thing I loved about Doumit though was his clutch hitting especially in the House of Horrors, Miller Park.

Damnit it's a Doumit: Autographed Edition

For just under $4 I was able to add another Ryan Doumit to my collection.
It's from 2013 Pinnacle and features a sticker auto with Ryan's 3 letter signature of RDt.
RDt sounds like a wrestler's name or finishing move and Doumit always seemed like someone you wouldn't want to get into a fight with.  Just look at the mug on this guy below.

It's looking more and more likely that I will not complete the goal to add 36 new Ryan Doumit cards by year's end.  I still need about 20 more unique Doumits to meet that goal.  Doumit is a free agent this year so I'm not sure what team he will appear on in 2015 products.

Dammit it's a Doumit: Pink Edition

So far we've raised $38 so please please please keep posting comments and pimping the blog....

Back in December 2013 I created Dammit It's a Doumit because I had the Blink 182 Dammit song stuck in my head for the day.  Since then sadly I have only added 1 new Ryan Doumit card to my collection until today...

Behold the majesticness of the uber rare PINK DOUMIT DAMMIT!!!!
2014 Topps Pink Parallel 15/50

This beautiful pink parallel from 2014 Topps numbered 15/50 ran me under $8 delivered.

At one time, I considered becoming a Ryan Doumit super collector until I came across this guy who clearly wouldn't let me win anything low numbered.

Now because Doumit is pictured in a Twins uniform...let's see some real twins as we continue to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Research

Dammit it's a Doumit 2.0

I have been slacking on my goal to add 36 new Ryan Doumit cards by the end of the year.  That has mostly been due to me not wanting to add Braves or Twins cards to my collection.  Instead I've been searching for Ryan Doumit parallels from his Pirates days that I don't have.  I came across a low hand numbered 50 mini of one of my favorite Doumit cards from 2009 Allen & Ginter.  2009 was the year I started to really get back into card collecting.

This mini had been eluding me for a long time due to the scarcity (/50) and how old the card is.  I was fortunate to add it to my collection for a mere $5 delivered.

Ryan has had a very tough time at the plate this year and just can't seem to get in a good rhythm offensively.  For the season he .202 with only a .298 slugging percentage which includes only 3 Homeruns.  Through Ryan's time with the Pirates, it was not uncommon to see him with a .450 slugging percentage and double digit HR totals every year.

I doubt I will be able to add 36 new Doumits to the PC by the end of the year, but am very happy to add this one to my collection.

Dammit it's a Doumit: 2013 Silver Slate 8/10

In 2000, Blink 182 was tearing up billboards with their pop punk hit Dammit.

In 2005, Ryan Doumit became my favorite member of the Pittsburgh Pirates until others started to join the fray in 2009 (Cutch and Charlie Morton)

In 2013, I grabbed a Silver Slate parallel from 2013 Topps
What do all these things have in common?
Not a damn thing!!!!

This extremely rare silver slate parallel ran me $12 delivered on ebay.

Should I make a weekly or monthly feature of my Ryan Doumit collection?
