Relics of Pirates All-Stars added

It was just announced that 2 positional players for the MLB best record Pittsburgh Pirates will be heading to NY for the All-Star Game.  In addition to pitchers Jason Grilli and Jeff Locke, Andrew McCutchen and Pedro Alvarez are heading to the city that never sleeps.

Cutch and El Toro were supposed to give Pirates fans hope heading into the 2011 season after strong performances in the second half of 2010.  Both men struggled offensively, but splashed on to the national recognition in 2012.  This year, they are leading the Pirates to the best record in baseball with strong offensive numbers and solid gold glove worthy defense.

I picked up a jersey relic of Cutch from 2012 Topps Triple Threads last year, but never got to show it off that I added it to my collection.  The card ran me just shy of $7 shipped and I am happy to add this piece of cardboard to my collection.

I also grabbed an El Toro jersey relic from 2013 Topps Heritage.  This is the gold hand numbered variation. This ran me just shy of $5 shipped which was a steal considering that Pedro is in the top 5 for HR and RBI entering today
