McCutchen Mailday #117: Griffey, Bo!, Mr. October, Harper, Kemp 5 Tool Booklet

I know I have said it several times this year, but this might be the best McCutchen I have added so far this year.  It features Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson, future Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr, the best two sport athlete ever Bo Jackson, Cutch, the Phenom Harper, and some guy named Matt Kemp.

WOW!!!!

Check out the patches on Cutch and Harper!!!!

only 3 of these were produced

Double Sickness!!!! Kemp & Bautista Dual On Card AUTO!!!!

I've been picking up some nice Jose Bautista cards lately and my most recent addition is no different.

A Dual On Card Autograph of Matt Kemp and Jose Bautista numbered to 25.  The grade is a little low (only 9) but that is mostly due to an 8.5 grade on corners.  I'm willing to bet that Greg at Plaschke wouldn't mind having this in his collection.

I'm happy I was able to grab this for only $31 delivered.

I'm heading to Baltimore today for the Orioles home opener against the Jays.  It should be a lot of fun.

McCutchen Monday: Cutch, Kemp, Victorino!!! Triple AUTO!!!!!!

My current favorite player in baseball is Andrew McCutchen.  Quite honestly, he might be my favorite player I've ever gotten a chance to see play. I currently own almost 300 unique cards of Cutch and hope to get that number closer to 400 by the end of the year.  Amongst my cardboard collection of Cutch are many autographs, over a dozen 1/1s, and almost enough jersey material to put his jersey back together.  Back in 2011, I created Morton Mondays, but with the lack of Charlie Morton cards available, I changed it to McCutchen Mondays so each Monday I will show off one new card from my Cutch collection.

To see all my Andrew McCutchen relics, autos, printing plates, manupatches, etc ... check out this link.

The Pirates are currently battling to advance further in the NL Playoffs being lead by their superstar centerfielder Andrew McCutchen.  The Dodgers are rallying to win their ticket to the NLCS without their star outfielder and former MVP candidate Matt Kemp.  The Red Sox are having a fantastic year with Shane Victorino handling the right field duties.  The card below shows all 3 of those players autographs on a 2012 UD Superstars Triple Auto numbered to 25 copies.

2012 UD Superstars Triple Signatures 19/25: Kemp, Cutch, Victorino

I've been after this card for a long time.  I always see it go in the $60-$80 range though and just never wanted to pull the trigger for a card with sticker autos and no images of the players for that price.  When I saw one listed with a BIN or Best Offer, I rolled the dice and asked if the seller would sell it for $40 shipped.  Less than 24 hours it was mine and on it's way to NJ.  For $13.33 an auto, I'm happy to add another certified auto of Cutch to my collection.

I think I may need to add some more Cutch autos to my collection.  I only have 68 so far.

Cutch Kemp Upton together again

I've picked up a few Andrew McCutchen cards with other "5 tool" outfielders over the past year.  I even managed to grab a booklet with Cutch, Kemp, and Upton together last year for around $40.  I'm happy to add another card of these power and speed NL All-Stars.

From 2011 Triple Threads I got a 21/36 jersey relic featuring the former MVP runner ups.

My First 2012 Bowman look and another Bucs Contest winner

The Bucs managed to split a series against the Nationals pulling off a 5-3 win in the nation's capital.  This means that someone is going to win some free cards of the Nationals.

I will have to randomize it off tomorrow, but in the meantime I'm going to show off some Bowman 2012 that I picked up.  I was in Target shopping with my girlfriend for baby shower gifts for a friend and at the absolute last minute decided to dart to the card aisle.  We were literally in line when I said, hold my place I'm buying some Bowman.  She said, "we're going to a card show at the mall tomorrow.  Isn't that enough?"

"I want an autograph" I said running towards the card aisle 8 registers away.  I came back with a blaster in hand and some Life Saver Gummi Savers (damn you impulse buy endcaps)  Paid my $22 and change and was on our way to the car.

As we were walking, she looked at the package and said in an excited school girl voice, "That's Bryce Harper!"

Yup!  The ladies love Bryce Harper.

Once we got home we split the 7 packs + 1 bonus pack into 2 piles.

Her first pack had this guy in it.  What are the odds of that?
Since she is such a big Bryce Harper fan, I'm not adding this to the contest winnings, but there will be plenty of other Nats swag included to our Contest winner

My pack
Brian McCann (Braves)
Brandon Morrow (Blue Jays)

Matt Purke (Nationals) CHROME I'm a big Matt Purke fan and wish he had gotten drafted by the Bucs

Myrio Richard (A's) CHROME
Carlos Santana (Indians) GOLD
blah blah blah
Matt Kemp (Dodgers)
blah blah blah

 Nick Kingham (Pirates)

Things were looking pretty solid in terms of getting players we like to this point.

The next few packs showed these cards as the highlights

Nothing to get really excited about, but I am happy to add the Starling Marte to my collection.

And then in the fourth to last pack was this blue bordered auto of Matt Adams numbered 277/500
I KNEW I WAS GOING TO PULL AN AUTO

If anyone is looking for base or to complete team sets let me know specifically what you're looking for.  All nonPirates are for trade if they aren't named Bryce Harper or Matt Purke.

ON ANOTHER NOTE, THE PIRATES BEGIN INTERLEAGUE PLAY TOMORROW AGAINST THE DETROIT TIGERS IN DETROIT.  THE PIRATES HAVE STRUGGLED OFFENSIVELY, BUT GET TO ADD ANOTHER BAT TO THE LINEUP WHICH MAY HELP THEIR CHANCES.  IF THE PIRATES WIN THE SERIES AGAINST DETROIT, SOMEONE WILL RANDOMLY WIN THESE CARDS BELOW.

I have a dozen packages that still need to get to the post office, so if you're expecting something from me, it hasn't been lost, I just haven't had time to ship it yet.
