I've shown off a few Topps Tribute Forever Young relics recently.
This gold /15 is my most recent
I also grabbed another parallel for 2016 Donruss

McCutchen Mailday #108-112: Heritage Lot
I couldn't believe that I won this lot for only $8 delivered a week after Heritage was released. It features both the base cards of Cutch and Pitt Power (which I showed off in a previous post).
In addition to that though I got the 67 disc, the retail stand-up, the purple chrome, chrome (77/567) and the Clubhouse Collection Jersey Relic.

McCutchen Mailday #107: Blue Titan!!!
I like the title of this post. It sounds like a superhero. My Cutch PC makes me feel like I'm a superhero, or at the very least a crazed super collector.
The recent Cutch to join my PC is a 2014 Blue parallel from Tribute Titans. It features a nice black swatch and is numbered 18/50.

Pops, Mad Dog, the Cobra, and the R-O-Y
If only it could have been Teke or Omar Moreno that appeared on this card instead of Jason Bay
Don't get me wrong, I love Jason Bay, but adding someone else from the 1979 We Are Family Pirates would have been a lot better.
This eBay 1/1 or as normal people should call it 100/100 was purchased using some eBay bucks a few months ago.
The problem I always have when adding multiplayer cards I collect is who to file them under. Normally it goes into this kind of ranking
1)PC player (Cutch or Morton)
2)Hall of Fame credentials (then by Year of induction)
3)Number of MVPs or Cy Youngs
4)Number of All-Star Games
5)Pick a player, any player
So since this card doesn't feature Cutch, I filed it under Pops because he was inducted into the Hall of Fame and the other 3 players have not (although Dave Parker could arguably be considered since his stats are nearly identical to HoFer Jim Rice).

My 1st Jackie Robinson relic with special guest Roberto Clemente
Today is a historically recognized day for not just baseball, but America as a whole. As we all know Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier on this day.
This is my first relic of Jackie and it also happens to feature one of the pioneers in Latin American ballplayers too.
The back describes it perfectly

I Held The Coveted Card and a McCutchen Mailday (120-126)
Yesterday I went to the Chantilly Virginia sports show with my brother because he wanted to attend a few of the Jacksonville Jaguars player signings. It was my last day of vacation and I tagged along for the ride. In less than two months I will be an uncle as my brother and his wife are expecting a baby girl in Early May. I viewed this little get away to be one of the last times him and I get to hang out without a baby or our ladies around.
I really wasn't interested in any of the player signings except Antonio Brown, but his prices were way too high.
Instead I just browsed the dealer's area and picked up some supplies, dime box cards, and some vintage I needed.
Oh and I got to see an authentic T206 Honus Wagner in person AND get my picture with it.
BOOOM!!!!!
This sure beats the heck out of all the reprints I have seen in my time.
I did find this unique oddball card talking about the prized card in the 25 cent bin.
As if that wasn't enough, I also grabbed a bunch of supplies, some vintage, and a few Cutch cards I needed.
When I got home these were in the mailbox.
I will return to normal updates to show all the Cutch cards I have gotten between my 72nd new PC additions and 119th new PC additions.
Holding the Wagner and getting a trio of Cutch rookies needed an immediate update though.
Overall though, I am very very happy with how the Cutch collection has grown to Supercollector status over the past year.

Bonds Away
Last night, I was going back and forth between the Pirates/Cardinals game and the Marlins/Tigers game. My brother is a big Marlins fan and I was curious to see how the team would operate under Don Mattingly and their new hitting coach, Barry Bonds. The first five innings looked ugly as former Cy Young winner and MVP winner, Justin Verlander held the fish hitless.
Then the bats woke up. It was an ugly bullpen game from both teams. Former Bucco, Bryan Morris, gave up two solo shots in the 9th.
After that I stopped paying attention to that game entirely though because the Bucs were in the midst of lockdown bullpen battles with the Cardinals. It was amazing to see them win that game last night and seeing Gregory Polanco using all his tools on display reminded me of another speedy toolsy outfielder who swung the bat from the left side.
Can RunPMC (Polanco, Marte, Cutch) be better than AVS (Andy Van Slyke) and the killer Bs (Bonds and Bonilla)?
I think so!!!
Until I can add more PMC cards, I will just show off this sick Jersey Relic of the HR Champ.

McCutchen Mailday #45: My 1st 2016 card of Cutch AND A CONTEST
So far this year I am on pace to add nearly 400 new unique cards of Cutch again. I have done fairly well at adding a card a day to my collection from eBay and sportlots dealers.
Today's post features the first true 2016 card added to the PC of the former MVP. It's a jersey relic Scouting Report, not serially numbered.
What's odd about this card though is the jersey relic used. The Pirates don't have pinstripe uniforms and when they have worn alternate uniforms in the past for Negro League heritage games, they generally wear the Crawfords uniforms which are red and white not grey and purple.
A few of the Starling Marte relics feature the same pinstripe so I am extremely curious what this could be from. If anyone can correctly identify the uniform that this could be from, I will send the winner a care package prize.

McCutchen Mailday #43: A Jersey Relic from the Past
Another Jersey relic comes home via ebay and it was ridiculously cheap.
This card brings me just shy of the 1,100 mark for unique Cutch cards.

McCutchen Mailday #39: YouTuber Brad8671
A few days ago I received a package in the mail from youtuber Brad8671. I have been a follower/subscriber of Brad's for over a year now and his videos (especially during football season) are extremely entertaining. If you're on youtube, go check him out.
Brad was showing off a few of his 2015 National Treasures that he had gotten in group breaks and mentioned "no one wants these" regarding the Jackie Robinson Tribute cards. Well, I quickly emailed Brad saying "I do I do" regarding the Andrew McCutchen he had gotten.
A few short days, this beauty showed up giving me my 39th unique card of Cutch I have added this year.
The back of the card discusses what game the jersey is from and how Cutch fared in the game.
Again I want to thank Brad for his incredible kindness in sending this card over to me. I will hit you back with some Dolphins stuff soon brother...

McCutchen Mailday #26 & 27: Cutch 22 and His Amazing Friends
Anyone remember the cartoon, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends which starred Spider-Man teaming up with Iceman and Firestar while at college? It was a fun cartoon in which they had a tripped out apartment and fought villains of the week. I don't own any of the episodes on dvd, but I remember having the episode where they fought Magneto on VHS.
I bring this up because as my Andrew McCutchen grows (almost daily) I come across cards that feature Cutch with past and present stars. My absolute favorite combination to pair with Cutch includes cards with Hall of Famers.
Every baseball fan knows of Roberto Clemente. He's one of the greatest rightfielders of all time. He's a Pirates legend. He's the superstar that opened the door for latin players in America. He's also one of the most tragic stories in sports. I love grabbing Clemente cards. If Clemente is on the card with Cutch, I feel I owe it to myself to grab it.
One player who many fans put high hopes and expectations on who never lived up to the hype was Pedro Alvarez. Pedro was cut from the Pirates future plans when they chose not to go to arbitration with him. He's a one tool player (power) with terrible defense and poor plate discipline. He doesn't get enough credit for his base running ability for being a big guy. What I mean by that is that he will never likely have double digit steals, but was very good at knowing when to try and take the extra base.

Merry Christmas to All!!!!
Merry Christmas to all my blogging friends out there.
I didn't get a lot of cardboard for Christmas this year, but I did get this awesome booklet card of current Penguins defenseman, Olli Maatta. Olli is quickly becoming one of my favorite Penguins and I had not had an autographed card of him until today.
Thanks to my lovely girlfriend, I now own an autograph and sweater swatch of the young upcoming Dman.
Again I wish everyone out there a Happy and Safe and Merry Christmas!

McCutchen Mailday #375, 376, 377, and 378: Some early gifts
Here's some recent early Christmas gifts to myself
All three are low numbered parallels. The Orange Factory Set cards are extremely tough to find despite being numbered to over 200 copies. Many collectors don't open their sets to discover who is in their mystery orange pack
I also received this jersey relic for being a good customer to an ebay seller this year

A Couple Of All-Stars Arriving and Departing?
As the Winter Meetings are currently under way, it is a major possibility that the Pirates could lose 2 All-Stars from last year's 2nd Best record in the MLB.
AJ Burnett, who is one of my favorite players to ever put on a Pirates uniform, was named to his first All-Star team in his final year. AJ stated that 2015 would be his last season in the majors and he was absolutely stellar in the first half. I'm hoping that maybe if the Pirates are making a playoff push again next year, that AJ might come out of retirement and win a ring with the Bucs.
Mark Melancon, who has been one of the league's most consistent relievers over the past few seasons both in the setup and closer role, was named to his second All-Star team. He lead the majors in saves last year and became the Relief Pitcher of the Year. There are strong talks that the Astros may be interested in acquiring Mark the Shark this offseason.
If that happens, it's going to be different not seeing these guys in Pirates uniforms come opening day 2016. With the Bullpens that Neal Huntington has built since taking over as GM, I am certain that he will find some more diamonds in the ruff though.
These two All-Star Stitches ran me under $5 each. I can't wait to show off a similar card in a few days.

McCutchen Mailday #226: Feeling Blue (not really)
I've been buying a lot of Christmas presents between last night and this morning. My wallet and bank account have taken a pounding.
So why not show off something I got for myself? My Cutch additions will be slowing down over the next few weeks as I begin to prepare for Christmas. I still have close to a dozen left that I've purchased this year, but haven't gotten around to show off yet.

McCutchen Mailday #220-222: A Trio of Relics invades the PTR
The Steelers have a bye week so no football cards today. Instead, I will just continue to show off more Cutch cards that I have added to the PC this year.
A trio of relics.
I've shown off a few plain color relics of Cutch this year
This latest trio includes a 2015 Topps Heritage Clubhouse Collection, a 2014 Topps Tribute, and a 2013 Bowman Platinum Cutting Edge Relics
Nothing too fancy. Just a smorgasbord of random jersey colors on some nice looking cardboard.

McCutchen Mailday #190: 2014 National Treasures Patch
I'm nearing the 200 mark for adding new Cutch cards to my PC this year. The goal was to merely add only 100 new Cutch cards to the PC this year. I've added probably close to 100 cards numbered to /50 this year which is just crazy sauce. There's even more coming though...
I've shown off a bunch of 2014 National Treasures cards this year as I have reverse boxed nearly a case worth of cards.
This nice Game Used patch card features what is most likely a part of Cutch's jersey sleeve.

McCutchen Mailday #185 - 187: Let's Sing this one Out!!!!
On the 185th Cutch Mailday, I had to give this to meeeeeee
3 Rangin Outfielders
2 Cutch Relics
and a Plate from Ope-ning Day
My quest for 100 new Cutch cards to be added to the PC in 2015 will be surpassed by double.
