Post 1,152 is a Milestone!!!!

I thought I would make a unique milestone post today as this is my 1,152nd post on the blog.  Strange number, I know.  But since the Pirates are currently and sadly in the middle of an offseason thanks to the dumb Wild Card rules, I can say that this post coincides with Cutch's career hit total.

Andrew McCutchen is the biggest collection I have in my PC.  I don't consider myself a supercollector of him, but do think that I have one of the nicest Cutch collections out there.

Through his age 28 season, he is on pace to put up Hall of Fame numbers if he plays at a similar pace through his late 30s.

Through the first 1,037 games in his career he has posted a triple slash line of .298/.388/.496
Those are crazy numbers that will put an elite 5 tool talent like Cutch in the Hall of Fame one day.
Of the 18 center fielders in the Hall of Fame, only a handful of players in the history of baseball have been able to achieve a line resembling .300/.400/.500.  Mantle, Mayes, DiMaggio, Wilson, Snider, Cobb...these are the types of numbers that Cutch is putting up in terms of his triple slash line through his first few seasons.

Add in 5 All-Star appearances over 6 full seasons, a Gold Glove, an MVP, 2xTop 3 MVP seasons, 3 silver sluggers, and turning the city of Pittsburgh back into a baseball town.

To celebrate my 1,152nd post corresponding with Cutch's career hit total (thus far) I thought I would show off some of my favorite hits.  Please note, some of these are being shown here for the first time as I am very behind with my McCutchen Mailday Quest posts.

As a reminder, my entire Andrew McCutchen PC can be seen by clicking the link OR you can check out my Picasa for all my Cutch hits here.

Let's start with....

The 1/1 Patches, Logoman, Laundry Tags, Letters, etc

The Booklets

The Patch/Relic Autographs

The Multi Player Autographs

The Multi Player Relics

The Patches, Jerseys, and Bats

The 1/1 Plates and Parallels
THIS WAS ONE OF MY HOLY GRAIL CARDS!!!!

Just a few random autos that I like

What do you guys think of my Cutch collection?
Do you think he will be a HOFer if he retires producing at a similar rate he has been, but fails to get to the magical numbers (3,000 hits, 500 HR, 700 SB, etc)

  1. Dang, if you aren't a McCutchen supercollector I don't know what one it. Very impressive collection. Barring a major injury, I think he is Hall Bound. It will be interesting to see how the Hall handles the changes in stats with the inflated steroid era production gone.

  3. Even though there isn't an auto on it, I absolutely love that Ginter book card.

  4. It will be interesting for Cutch down the road. If he can have 5 or 6 more seasons like this he'll get in. Voters like that 10 year peak, and he already has to good narrative.

  6. Well, crap. Best McCutchen collection I've ever seen! Way to go, and keep up the fantastic work! PS: I think he is on a Hall of Fame pace, without a doubt. I hope he plays his whole career in Pittsburgh.
