McCutchen Mailday #90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97 A NEAR RAINBOW!!!!!

In my Quest to add 100 new Andrew McCutchen cards to the PC, I knew I wanted to grab some parallels that I never had acquired before.  I never expected to be reaching the 100 card goal so early in the year and definitely didn't think that this would be my 7th and 8th 1/1s.

Did you see the 2 new 1/1s added to my collection in the scan above?
Need a better closeup?

I have already shown off

I am nearing my goal and actually have a bunch more cards due to arrive soon.  I can't wait to show them all off.  Some of these are absolutely sick!!!!

Like many of you I was a big fan of the silver frame parallels

My 61st new Andrew McCutchen card I've added to my collection this year is a 2014 Topps Camo numbered 5/99. I grabbed it for $15.

McCutchen Monday: Can't see me edition...

Andrew McCutchen has been missing in action for awhile now and the team's record is starting to show that for a few games it can make up for Cutch's bat, but in the long run they can't.  With that being said, today I'm showing off my latest Prizm parallel, a 2014 Camo parallel that I won for just over a $1.00 delivered off ebay.

Cutch should be back very soon which is good news for the Bucs.  They need to stay in the hunt.

Don't show any Merc(er)y!!!!

Pirates shortstop Jordy Mercer has been on a mega hot streak the last 5 games.  During that stretch he has increased his .190 batting average to .232.  He has gone .545/.545/.864 with an OPS of 1.409 over the past 5 games collecting 8 runs and 6 RBI over 22 plate appearances.  That's video game numbers!  Jordy has always been thought of as having a good bat with gap to gap power, but has struggled mightly in the early 2014 season.  Hopefully his June numbers continue the way they've started.

I grabbed this camo version from 2013 Topps for under $3 delivered.  Really happy to add this to the collection since I've been following Jordy since I got a chance to meet him in 2010 when he was a member of the Altoona Curve.  Speaking of which, I'm going to see the Curve play against the Trenton Thunder tonight.  Hopefully I can come away with some autographs.  I went to the game last night and got a ball signed by a lot of the members from the team, but no cards.  Today's going to be a card day.

BayDay! BayDay!: Camo Edition!

It's no secret to anyone that reads my blog that Jason Bay is one of my favorite baseball players of all time.  Even when he left Pittsburgh to play for the Red Sox, Mets, and Mariners I kept rooting for him.  Continuing the theme to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend, I'm showing off my camo edition of 2013 Topps Jason Bay.

So Many Cards, So Little Time: The Sequel

Yesterday I showed off all the new additions to the blog for my 2013 Topps Update Charlie Morton additions.  Today, I'm going to show off some of the easier to find 2014 Topps parallels I have grabbed over the past few months.

The above 6 cards ran me $12.73 delivered which isn't terrible for 6 serially numbered or retail exclusive cards.

Up first is the Gold Parallel which came in at a hefty price of 6 cents which I smartly combined with a bunch of other cards to make the shipping free.

Of all the recent parallels that Topps has started to put out, I think this ugly shade of green is my least favorite.  Nothing about this card excites me......except that it's another card to chase of my favorite player.  It ran me $1.98 shipped and I am happy I won't have to type in Charlie Morton green into my save searches for the rest of the card season.
This purple variant ran me $1.26.  How did Toys R Us become the purple variant exclusive?  I get WalMart Blue and Target Red because their logos reflect those colors.

Can someone please point out to me what letter in their logo is purple because I sure as hell don't see it?

The Yellow retail exclusive was one of the more expensive cards to track down at $3.25.  Seeing how nice this card looks, makes me want to complete the team set for the yellow parallels.

The Camos were won around the same time and I put feeler bids in on both, thinking that if I lost one I could win the other.  I managed to win both these /99 parallels for a combined price of $5.98 (roughly $3 a card after shipping)
