I want the Pirates to end their losing season streak so bad, so I'm reaching out to my blogging friends to support the Pirates this year. How are you going to do that? It's easy. ROOT FOR THE BUCS!!!!
To celebrate the Pirates victory over the Phillies today winning the series, I am going to have a season long Pirates cheering contest.
The interest that Julie from Things Are Funner Here had in a Cliff Lee 2012 Heritage card I posted earlier gave me the idea. I'm giving away free cards every time the Pirates win or split a series. Some will be nice hits, some will be random 80s junk wax, some will be HOF rookie cards. No matter though, they'll be free.
The rules are simple if you want free cards
1)The Pirates must win or split the series
2)Leave a comment on one of my posts saying Let's Go Bucs! prior to the series happening. This will enter you into the random drawing.
2a)If your favorite team is playing the Pirates and you leave a comment saying Let's Go Bucs, you get entered twice
2b)Multiple postings of Let's Go Bucs does not enter you more than once, but I highly encourage it.
3)Sometimes I will post the cards I'm giving away prior to each series, sometimes I won't. The cards given away will be of the team the Pirates are facing.
Our first winner is Julie and she didn't even know that I was running this contest. She will be receiving this Cliff Lee Heritage Clubhouse Collection and box topper for the Pirates winning ways over the Phillies in PNC Park.
With the Pirates playing the Dodgers starting Tuesday, I know there will be plenty of Dodgers bloggers watching the game. So can you root against your favorite team and cheer for the Bucs?
If the Pirates win the series in LA, one random blogger will receive this card above along with some other Dodgers goodies.
So share this contest and root for the Pirates in 2012. LET'S GO BUCS!!!!
I wouldn't mind adding another Dee to the collection. I'll be at the Dodgers/Pirates game Tuesday so I'll comment now...Let's go Bucs!
ReplyDeleteThat hurt.

ReplyDeleteYay! I win for...losing! Thanks, Brian. This is a great idea! I think it is hilarious to see these fans of other teams rooting for the Bucs!
ReplyDeleteLet's Go Bucs! I'm a sucker for free stuff.
ReplyDeletePlus, we're not a terribly good team to begin with.
DeleteLet's Go Bucs! I concur with Greg!
Delete(I can't believe the Braves got swept by Nu Yuck, btw)

ReplyDeleteAre the Tigers even playing the Pirates this year? I don't know if I could do it.
Let's go Bucs!! Beat them Dodgers!
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious and awesome. Would collectors and fans of various teams profess their fandom of the Pittsburgh Pirates for the off-chance that they could win some great swag from the Pirates Treasure Room?
ReplyDeleteWhy yes, yes they would.
"Let's GO BUCS!"
Let's go Bucs!
ReplyDelete(What the heck, they're my fourth or fifth favorite team anyways, so this won't be too tough.)
I usually root for the Pirates against every team but one. I especially want them to win against the Dodgers, so
ReplyDeleteLet's Go Bucs!
Let's go Bucs. Since none of the interleague games are against the ChiSox, I'll be pimping all year long.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeff!
DeleteI will be saying Let's go Bucs all year. My son's baseball team was almost named the Bucs this year because his pitching coach was in the Pirates until the end of this spring. We are both really pulling for the Pirates to return to glory and make Willie and Roberto proud.
ReplyDeleteAs a thank you for the great work you are doing, check out my 1979 Topps blog tomorrow morning. The blog love for the next card will come to you since it's a Pirate coming up.
Lets go Pirates! Beat those Giants starting on Friday!
