Bucs win so you know what that means....

We have another winner of the Bucs Win You Win contest I'm holding all season long.
The Pirates will head into tomorrow looking to sweep the Washington Nationals, but first they'll have to get past Stephen Strasburg.  No matter what happens with tomorrow's game though, the Pirates have already won the series which means someone is getting free cards.

Let's find out who it is...
It's a 3 game series so that means it gets randomized 3 times.

The High Five Man wins again!
Justin from Justin's World won a recent Bucs Win contest and will now be receiving some additional Nationals/Expos cards for his collection.  Justin...send me your address so I can get these out to you ASAP.

The star of today's game was Andrew McCutchen who went 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI including a solo homerun in the 8th.  The real highlight of the game from Cutch for me though was seeing him score from 2nd base on a ground ball hit to the shortstop.  Ian Desmond hesitated with his throw home, but that just shows how fast Cutch can be when he cranks up his gears.

Sometimes the MLB website changes their links around, but this should show the ground ball that McGehee hit to score Cutch from 2B.

The bullpen was utilized heavily as Erik Bedard was pulled with only 3 pitches into the 2nd inning with back spasms.  Using 5 different pitchers in 8 innings, the Pirates bullpen allowed only 1 earned run in the 7th inning off Juan Cruz.  Closer Joel Hanrahan tried to redeem himself for last night's blown save, but made it very interesting by loading the bases with only 1 out in the 9th before he got Bryce Harper to pop out and Ryan Zimmerman to strike out leaving the bases loaded.

To celebrate the Pirates victory, I will show off a new Andrew McCutchen card I added to my collection for $3.25.  It's a grey jersey swatch from 2012 Gypsy Queen.  I had gotten the white jersey in a break hosted by Cardboard Heaven.  This is my 70th Andrew McCutchen hit I own with hopefully many more to come.
