The Pirates offense came alive last night as they beat the Braves in Atlanta 9-3.
James McDonald started out a little shaky getting hit hard and giving up 2 runs in the first inning thanks to a Freddie Freeman homer. After that though he settled down and went on to pitch 7 2/3 innings.
Pedro Alvarez hit his 5th homerun of the year off his Vanderbilt University team mate Mike Minor.
I was extremely happy to see the Pirates dominate that final game as they head into St. Louis tonight. I have only had 1 person enter the St. Louis contest to win the below Yadier Molina card so far. Remember to leave a comment and root for the Pirates to win the series. Let's Go Bucs!!!!
Since the Pirates didn't sweep the Braves in Atlanta I get to keep my Andrew McCutchen/Jason Heyward dual auto card, but there are three nice jersey cards that will be going to a new home since the series was split
Let's find out
where these cards are heading
since the Pirates split the 4 game series
Our winner is...
The High Five Man!!!! AWESOME!!!! Splitting a series deserves a high five
Since I was happy to see my Bucs not lose the series and play .500 baseball against one of the tougher teams I am sending out another random card to someone that entered this contest.
There's no mustaches on this card, but Eric L is the winner of this 2012 Box Topper featuring the Braves Freddie Freeman.
