Wanna see the same of image of Pops from 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013?
I get it...there's no new photos of Willie to be found, but do I really need to add a Willie Stargell to my collection every year with the same image?
2010 Topps, 2011 Topps 60, 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen, 2013 Topps Museum |
I don't!!!!
And that is why the only retired player cards I'm buying from now on is straight up vintage.
Don't get me wrong, if I see a card that completely blows my mind, I will probably get it and I will never turn down Stargell, Kiner, Mazeroski, or Clemente cards in trade packages, BUT I am done buying new cards with the same images reused over and over and over and over again.
I feel your pain. Topps used the same picture of Billy Williams at the Polo Grounds in five different brands in 2013.
ReplyDeleteAnd waht really sucks is that there just lazy it's easier to repackage recrop the image to make a different card just google any of those players there are hundreds of old images around and topps has there own vault with pictures that there not using but they do sell them see link for a small sample

Topps needs to wake up and realize that we have caught on and it's not acceptable.
ReplyDeleteWow... it's hard to imagine that there aren't more images of Stargell that Topps has access to. Maybe they just love this image and thought they could sneak it by collectors. You should post a link of this blog post on their Twitter and Facebook, so they can take notice and correct this issue in the future.
